About Us

Athena is a West­ern Aus­tralian based explo­ration com­pany incor­po­rated in April 2005 with the objec­tive of acquir­ing min­eral projects with the poten­tial to be devel­oped into prof­itable min­ing operations.

The Com­pany is tar­get­ing nickel sul­phide and gold min­er­al­i­sa­tion within Pro­tero­zoic mobile belts that con­tain lucra­tive min­eral deposits on the mar­gins of the Yil­garn and Pil­bara cra­tons. It has applied for and holds ten­e­ments in its own right as well as through the pro­posed acqui­si­tion of Capri­corn Resources Pty Ltd. Cop­per, lead, zinc, sil­ver and ura­nium deposits are attrac­tive alter­na­tive explo­ration tar­gets that are also likely to occur in these areas.

Athena will seek to secure prospec­tive areas in its own right or through acqui­si­tion or joint ven­ture as new oppor­tu­ni­ties arise, the ulti­mate objec­tive being to define a world class nickel sul­phide or copper-gold resource. Pro­vid­ing they are high-grade, smaller dis­cov­er­ies may be of eco­nomic ben­e­fit to the Com­pany by gen­er­at­ing early cash flow to fund on-going exploration.

The Com­pany will opti­mise oppor­tu­ni­ties by engag­ing the ser­vices of expe­ri­enced per­son­nel, apply­ing advanced tech­nolo­gies and the lat­est explo­ration meth­ods. The empha­sis will be on field work and drilling. To con­trol costs staffing lev­els will be kept to the min­i­mum nec­es­sary to meet the Company’s imme­di­ate objectives.
